the kitchen is really a lot cleaner now than i can remember. has to do maybe with the female kitchen staff nowadays. but it still has that fried, musty smell, but none of the smell of the burning upa and the septic water that used to pervade the kitchen back then. strange but seminary smells are kind of like my "comfort smells". like the smell of floorwax the building maintenance guys used to make then (kerosene plus candles), the smell of fried longganisa, the smell of the refectory, or the smell of the grass being cut by Pay - the maintenance guy and of course the smell of the incense during church on sundays. they all bring a smile. i definitely still hate though the smell of the olps toilets
